We offer a range of mental health professionals at each of our clinics.
These include the following senior mental health specialists. In
addition, all consultants have qualified in Brief Strategic Therapy
with the Brief Strategic Therapy Foundation in London.
Dr Lucy Atcheson
Dr Lucy Atcheson BSc. (Hons) MSc. Psych.D., C. Psychol is an accredited
brief strategic therapist as well as a counselling psychologist,
and a coaching psychologist. Dr Lucy has seven years of experience
working as a psychologist, five of these have been working in independent
practice. She is also a qualified as a critical incident stress
management practitioner since 2003. Dr Lucy runs her own practice
in Harley Street, London. Lucy has written two books: Dr Lucy Atcheson's
Guide to Perfect Relationships, and Free Yourself From Fear (both
published by Hay House). Lucy specialises in working with panic
disorders and has done a BBC program on overcoming phobias. www.counsellingpsychologistlondon.com
In addition, Dr Lucy is
a regular contributor on the radio and in the national press, she
has also made several television appearances.
Mr Andy McCann
Andy is a leading Brief Strategic Therapist. He is an internationally
published author with Jessica Kingsley Publishers, London (specialists
in Social and Behavioural Science). His work has been acclaimed
in the UK national press and medical journals and he was nominated
for the prestigious Glen Dimplex Writers’ Award, 2006 (non-fiction
category). He has also been commissioned to contribute a series
of wellbeing pieces in the Times (Educational Supplement) and is
regularly engaged in an advisory capacity to national organisations
on behavioural problems and appears in the national media.
Andy is an elected Fellow
of the Royal Society of Medicine and is a member of the Vocational
Rehabilitation Association.
Andy runs clinics at Cyncoed
Consulting Rooms, Cardiff where he specialises in stress management
and is used as an expert in Medico Legal cases.
Dave Costello
Dave Costello BA(Hons)DipCOT DCHyp ACertCSHyp has been an Occupational
Therapist for 18 years, and worked in a variety of clinical areas
in mental health in the NHS for 14 years. He came to specialise
in vocational rehabilitation and job retention case management,
devising methods in which services could become more focused around
assisting and supporting individuals with mental health issues back
into work.
Dave continued this work in Wales, taking up the post of lead clinician
for the Equal Programme Healthy Minds at Work. This programme explored
methods in which stress and mild to moderate mental health conditions
could be better addressed in the workplace. Dave devised a ‘Health
and Wellbeing Facilitator Training’ course, which has since been
adopted by a number of public sector organisations in Wales. He
is also a guest lecturer on the Occupational Therapy Degree Programme
at the University of West of England.
In recent years Dave has designed and delivered Condition Management
Programmes for Depression for Pathways to Work, as well as providing
rehabilitation and case management to the Insurance industry, supporting
and enabling individuals to return to work following illness or
injury.
Dave is an accredited Brief Strategic Therapist and practices clinical
hypnotherapy in both Cardiff and Bristol.
